The last time I experienced a tap room pour was Friday, February 28th. And I was blessed to have that experience at @suarezfamilybrewery. Of course, I couldn’t leave without buying bottles of Dan Suarez’s special creations. The latest release of 5.6% country beer Summer Whoa uses the 2019 harvest of cold-climate Contender peaches, and it is fantastic. The aromatics are wonderful… light peach, Chardonnay, oaky funk. This isn’t an in-your-face fruited beer. Flavors of soft peach, some Cara Cara orange and white grape. Soft and reserved, but with enough tartness and underlying savory earthiness, this is a dynamic country beer. Sipping on Summer Whoa takes me back to past summers of slow pours and views across Route 9 of thunderstorms rolling across that open field. Hope to experience that again soon. 🍻 –
